Mount Blue State Park Camping Trip with Friends

This summer we camped out Mount Blue State Park with a couple of families who we are very good friends that we adore. Before setting up our tent at the campground, we needed to hike one of those gorgeous mountains though. So we made our way up Tumbledown Mountain.

Link was very, very excited to see his friends at the campsite, and not very excited to hike. But we gave him the important job of navigator and that helped get him going.

The first part of the hike was pretty flat. But the last quarter was quite vertical and there was lots of boulder scrambling. Meo was loving climbing up.

Do you see Link in the background of this photo?

Tumbledown Pond at the summit was beautiful. A little too cold for us to want to swim in, but lovely nonetheless.

Link loved experimenting with his echo at the top.

Photos from camping!

You can only imagine how much fun the kids had being able to hang out with their best friends for 3 days and 2 nights. They were nuts and so happy.

There is a beach at the campground and we all went swimming. We also went paddle boarding, canoeing, and frog catching!

The ranger set up a fun animal relay game for the kids to play. I was out paddle boarding, but Amy got some photos for me!

See, there I am paddle boarding.

Us grownups all had fun playing board games and chatting and relaxing too!

There is a nature center there too that was full of wonderful learning opportunities. Highlights for the boys were seeing the snakes and pretending to be hummingbirds.

We ended the trip with a picnic dinner on Center Hill. What a view!

I am so glad we got to spend a lovely full weekend with some of our favorite people in such a beautiful place. Thank you friends!
