Our last Music Together session (spring 2016)

When we ended this session, I didn't think it was going to be our last one. We did music together for over three years and have done every collection. We have had Miss Pauline throughout and loved her. Both boys loved this class, but Link especially did. But as fall got closer we realized there was no way we could swing another term financially and time-wise (Meo would need to spend at least a half day in private school in order for Link and I to go since this term Meo stayed with his friend Noah to play and this fall Noah started kindergarten). So looking back at these pictures and videos was bittersweet. Link is so musical and loved participating in this class. I will miss his excitement and enthusiasm and spending the time together just him and I. Link will still be able to do music with other kids at Earth School this fall, so hopefully he will enjoy that as much.

We will also miss hanging out with our good friends Sharon, Logan and Braden! Braden is off to kindergarten this fall, but Logan and his new baby brother will still be going and we will miss that time with them!

I am so grateful for this program, for all the great songs that we learned and continue to sing all the time in our house. We are thankful for a wonderful teacher and the fun times making music together with other families. We are grateful for the way in which it fostered their love of music. We will miss this class!

Music Together Class: Fiddle Collection

This fall we had another great 10 week session of Music Together with our teach Miss Pauline. This session Link really started participating. He is unusually well behaved in music class; he sits on my lap and doesn't run around and he pays attention. In most other situations he is not like this, he's a pretty busy little guy. But not only does he sit and pay attention, he is starting to sing along, do the proper gestures, and loves to play instruments. It's pretty cool and it seems like he gets a lot of the class.

Meo loves music together as well. It's especially fun because he has a couple of friends who take the class at the same time; Braden and Carter. Meo has become more outgoing lately, and is not afraid to be the center of attention and try new things. But this means he also has no problem pretending to be a snake and dragging himself across the floor on his belly instead of participating. Thankfully, he does in fact participate some of the time and has a lot of fun when he does.

We are thankful to Miss Pauline for another great session and helping to instill a love of music into our boys. Robbie and are undecided as to whether Meo will continue with the sessions as he has now officially done all of the different collections (3 years worth), is 4.5 and will be starting violin in the new year. It makes me sad to think this time is over for him, especially because I know it brings him so much joy. But we will see what happens, I'm sure it won't be the last he sees of his favorite music teacher!
