Mattimeo's Second Year of Soccer

Meo has grown a lot in the past year! Looking back at last years season, Meo was pretty nervous most of the time and needed a lot of encouragement to play (Post about first year of soccer). This year he was all about it! He was enthusiastic, outgoing, and had a lot of fun.

His kick has gotten to be quite powerful. I wonder if martial arts has helped with that.

Link is still too little to play soccer, but he had fun hanging out with Mom, Dad, and Pippin while Meo played.

Sometimes I think Link wished he could join in too though.

Every practice they had a game at the end. All the kids tended to clump together and most of them didn't really understand the goal of the game. But over the short season they started to grasp the concept better, and they were really cute to watch.

A lot of them still don't quite understand that you don't pick up the ball with your hands; including Meo. They are learning though!

Look at this kid kick an out of bounds ball back into the game!

Here are Meo's professional soccer photos this year:

Meo's first T-ball season

Meo played his very first season of t-ball this spring. I was amazed by how much he loved it. He was always excited to go to practice and to go to the games, he wanted to practice all the time, and he just had so much fun! He improved a lot over the season too and had a great time with his teammates.

Very first practice:

Meo's first game (he didn't have a uniform yet because we switched teams at the last minute):

Here is a video of his very first hit

Every game had two innings; two at bats and two times fielding. They always switched positions so they would get to try them all out by the end of the season.

This video of fielding practice makes me giggle

Link always found interesting ways to be entertained during tball practice and games.

One of his games Grandma and Grandpa Robinson came and Memere Rocray came. He was so excited to see them there!

Meo's very last t-ball game:

Auntie Sam got to come to his last game which was very special!

After the game, the coach took the time out for ice cream. It was really sweet to see how well all the kids got along and how much fun they had together. It was a great first season!

Meo learned so much and improved a great deal over the short season. I am glad that he enjoyed it so much and he is already looking forward to playing again next spring.
