Recap of my 25th Week

Baby Development at 25 Weeks

Robbie and I have had a busy past week! To recap, I'll start with last Thursday night when we were very lucky to have our friends Rob, Andrew and Lauren come over and help Robbie move furniture around in the living room. We have been having to rearrange everything to make room for the baby, so now we no longer have an office. Now we are sharing a computer in the living room instead. I like how the new setup looks so far.

Last weekend we were had several things going on. I was pet-sitting for one of the dogs I walk, Oreo. She was really sweet and I feel like we had a good bonding experience over the weekend. Normally she can be pretty grumpy around the other dogs, so it was nice to see her softer side.

While I was pet-sitting, Robbie was busy driving back and forth to Waterboro (an hour one way) to bring some of the furniture we needed to get rid of and/or store to make room for the baby. Robbie's dad awesomely lent us his muscles and truck for the day to help Robbie move the heavy stuff. He also is letting us use Robbie's old bureau to put in Mattimeo's room. I went to Waterboro for one of the trips and we all had lunch together and played with their kitten, Buddy.

Saturday night we went ballroom dancing with my Aunt Darlene and Uncle Steve. Robbie and I took ballroom and swing dancing lessons for about a year and a half before we went to England, but we haven't had the money to start lessons up since we got back. Therefore, we were really rusty and couldn't even remember a lot of the basic steps. But over the course of three hours and with help from my Aunt and Uncle (who are awesome dancers) it slowly started to come back to us. It was really fun both to be dancing again as well as to watch some of the professional dancers on the floor. It made me want to start dancing lessons again, though it's certainly more exhausting when you are pregnant!

Sunday, Robbie and I spent the day sorting through all the office stuff that just got thrown aside while we moved furniture around then setup our computer. In the evening, we had a bunch of friends over to share some cake I got to celebrate Robbie's 26th birthday. We spent the night all bowling together at Bayside Bowl, which was really fun.

Monday was Robbie's actual 26th birthday, and I made one of his favorite meals for when he got home: curry. Sam came over for dinner too and we all enjoyed curry, birthday cake, and playing an expansion of Settlers of Catan that Robbie's mom and dad got him for his birthday. Sam gave Robbie one of the really awesome paintings she made for a birthday present, and I am looking forward to putting it in the living room to brighten up the room.

On Wednesday night Robbie and I had a consultation with a pediatrician. One of the nurses gave us a tour of the office, and all of the exam rooms are decorated with different themes, which was really cool. Meeting with the pediatrician when great; she was really nice, very easy to talk to and we seem to be on the same page as far as all the important issues surrounding newborn care is concerned. We were really happy with how she answered all of our questions and we are definitely feel happy knowing she will be taking care of our Meo's medical needs.

On Friday I had a really awesome day hanging out with a friend I hadn't seen in a couple of years. Dalin and I have been friends since we started junior high school, and it was really great to see her again. Despite many changes in both of our lives over the past couple of years, when we got together it felt like time hadn't passed at all. She brought her 3 year old nice out to lunch with us, who was very adorable and sweet. It was really great spending the afternoon with a girlfriend and I hope I will see her more frequently in the future.

While enjoying a milkshake, Dalin asked if I could use my belly as a shelf yet

Friday evening was the University of Southern Maine's senior art show in Gorham. My sister, Samantha, had several of her paintings up so Robbie and I went to go see them. There was art of all different mediums there which made for a really interesting space. Sam's art is very colorful, bold, thought provoking and fabulous. It has been cool to see her painting style evolve over her years at college; she has become a very talented artist and we are proud of her. I am excited to see what sorts of paintings she will be inspired to produce next.
