Our last two Christmas parties took place on the Sunday after Christmas. In the afternoon, we had the Gosselin Christmas party. This year, the Christmas party was held where my Pepere is staying since it is not very easy for him to get around these days and it was important for him to be there. Another change at this year's Gosselin gathering was that my step mom was not there because she was in Germany with her sister, Louise. This was Sue's first time overseas, and we were all very excited for her!
Mattimeo surprised me at this gathering as he was very outgoing and excited. Despite all the people around, he hardly clung to me at all and had fun running around with his cousins. He got some very nice gifts from a couple of his great Aunts, listened to our musical family sing Christmas carols and enjoyed messily slurping chocolate off of pretzel sticks. It was a very good day to be a Meosaur.

We had to leave partway through the Christmas carols so that we could get home and set up for our final Christmas party of the year with friends, which we were hosting.

We hadn't been able to see very much of our very good friends since we had been living with Robbie's parents for a while and are always busy at night taking care of our baby. So we were very excited to be able to host the Christmas party in our own home. It was the first time some of our friends got to see the new place, and it was fun to show them around. But mostly it was just fun to have everyone all together again. We had a potluck, so people brought lots of yummy food. There was a great music playlist that people added to throughout the night, lots games played, a fun gift exchange, and lots of good conversation and silliness. Mattimeo was up for a little bit, then I tried to put him to bed at his usual time, but he was way too excited about all the people in his house. Instead, he ran around the house in his pajamas giggling, and played trains with friends up in his room. Eventually, he did go to bed, and it was nice for Mama and Daddy to have some quality time with their friends. Thank you all for coming and spending the night with us, we love you and missed you all.
