Summary of 18 Month Old Mattimeo

Today Mattimeo turned 19 months old. Sometimes I have to remind myself that these are months I am talking about, not years, and that he is a wee little guy and that I have indeed been making the most of our precious time together. Because sometimes it really just feels like time is going too fast.

During Meo's 18th month, he had a breakthrough with language. He was able to say quite a bit of words, but this month has been just crazy exciting. He has been able to repeat almost everything I ask him to say, or at least make a close approximation to it. He is excited about talking, especially about making animals sounds, and the house is always full of sweet little Meo chatter (unless he is getting into some mischief...in which case he is uncharacteristically quite). He says so much now, I couldn't even give an estimate as to how many words he can say.It has been an exciting development to witness, and Mattimeo seems especially happy now that he is becoming a more effective communicator. He is even beginning to do more sign language which is just as fun. Here are some videos of Meo talking and making animal noises:

Here are some of Meo's favorite things from his 18th month:

Where are you going Meo??

The beginnings of Potty Time (in general, he is terrified of the potty, but he did sit on it one day (and only one day) and loves his potty book).

Scooting around the room on his potty

The only time he sat on the potty without a diaper...didn't pee or poop though

Story time at the Portland Public Library with Leela and Parker. Meo was so tired before story time that I almost brought him home right away. But eventually he warmed up and started running around and kissing Leela. Their personalities really compliment each other well so Leela and Meo always seem to get along and have fun which is nice.

One of our neighbors put together a neighborhood bonfire. And despite there being a big snowstorm, there was still a pretty big turnout. Mattimeo didn't mind the snow, but he was a little nervous of one of the neighbors pups. I'm glad that we have such a friendly neighborhood!

Fun at the Children's Museum with Parker. We didn't get to see our friends Tiffaney and Parker for very long, but it was still nice to catch up for a bit since we hadn't gotten to see them in a while. Meo was really into mooing at the cow and playing in the fire truck that day. He also thought about climbing in the tunnel, which Parker really loves to do.

Theta is on a raw food diet now do to some digestive issues, and as Pi would rather starve than eat raw food we have to feed him someplace where Theta can't reach (Theta is horrible at jumping). Theta is not impressed.

Meo added a $5 bag of cinnamon almonds to the grocery cart without us noticing hehe
