The weekend Mommy overdid it: Gib's birthday and Canobie Lake Park

At 21 weeks pregnant, nearly 22 weeks, I had a wonderful weekend with my little family and great friends, but I did entirely two much. I spent Monday, the first day of being 22 weeks completely rundown and on self-prescribed bed rest. Poor Robbie had to use his last sick day because I was having trouble breathing and couldn't eat anything all day, nevermind take care of Meo. But the day of rest helped out tremendously, and the next day, though still weak, I felt better. I think the main reason I got so sick is it was really hot outside (about 95 degrees both days) and we spent both days out in the sun walking around all day. Ineveitably I carried Meo a substantial amount of time both days because he gets tired or nervous or just wants Mama time and that made me even more exhausted. But I did however manage to have a really fun weekend despite these trials.

Goofy boy Saturday morning

On Saturday, we spent the day celebrating our really good friend Gib's 30th birthday. Our friend group all went out in the morning to Old Orchard Beach to eat pier food and play games at the arcade. Meo played his first arcade game with Mommy (some snowmobile racing game in which we came in second place), and he thought that was awesome. Daddy even got in a round of DDR, just like old times, with our friend Andrew. Meo was really interested in what Robbie was doing (dancing around on a platform full of arrows), and it was all I could do to prevent him from climbing on. He slipped past me once and inevitably got knocked over by Dada (who didn't even notice, he was so focused), and I carried off a crying Meo. But overall I think Meo had fun in the arcade.

After that we all went to play disc golf. Our gang was so big, we split up into two groups and Robbie played with Dan, Andrew and Lauren. Mattimeo and I just followed them around, which Meo enjoyed doing. He got to throw the Frisbee a few times, climb some stuff, run around like a crazy boy and play bubbles with Lauren. After Frisbee, everyone else went out to a late dinner and to some bars, but Robbie and I took Meo home to eat and get to sleep. It was a fun but exhausting day for us!

The next day was another full day. One of our friends was able to get us some super discounted tickets ($3 each for Robbie and I plus free lunch!) to Canobie Lake Park. Canobie Lake Park is an amusement park in New Hampshire that my Dad and Sue used to take us to every summer, and I was really excited because I hadn't been there in years. What was even more excited is a bunch of our other mom friends were their families, so we got to see lots of people we knew. We actually got to spend the day with one of Meo's very best friends, Leela, and her wonderful Mom and Dad. We had a lot of fun! Meo went on the antique cars, a sky ride, a pretend hot air balloon ride, the carousel, and the Ferris wheel with either Mommy or both Mommy and Daddy. He loved going on the rides, but HATED waiting in line for them. Mommy found herself holding Meo a lot even though she was really hot and tired, and even on a couple occasions needed to sit down and nurse him in line to get him to stop fussing. Krista nursed Leela a couple times too and we got some looks, but it was better than having a screaming toddler in line I'm sure. This was Meo's first time at an amusement park, and we had such a fun time. I'm glad our little family and Leela's little family got to spend the whole day together because that made it even more spectacular.
