Link started off content to be worn on my front so that I could carry the backpack as well while Meo rode on Robbie's back.
But after the excitement of seeing all the trees and other nature goodness wore off, Link started pinching my neck and face with sharp little nails and was driving me crazy. I distracted him with a nursing necklace temporarily, but he ended up on my back and Meo decided to walk.
As you can imagine this made for a leisurely hike up the mountain. These are the best sort of hikes in my opinion though.
We didn't go all the way to the top this day...we stopped at the ledges which have the best views on the entire trail anyways. Link had some mama milk, and we all shared some yummy snacks and lots of water.
We saw a lot of wildlife that day, including several frogs, a mole, and some hawks pictured below.
Link enjoyed the opportunity to get out and stretch his legs and do a little "hiking" himself.
On the way back down the mountain, Link took a nice long nap on my back.
Meo walked almost the entire way down and talked A LOT. He was very excited.
Meo collected a lot of little treasures too; mainly acorns and rocks. It was a beautiful day out in nature with my guys, and we all felt both tired and refreshed afterwards...and ready for our traditional post-hike-pizza of course.
