Boston Museum of Science

The boys had their first "official" field trip to the Boston Museum of Science this fall. It was put together by a fellow homeschooling mom and a whole group of us were able to go as a school group at an extremely discounted rate. I was concerned the boys were still too young for this particular museum so I would never had paid full price, but this was such a great deal we decided to take advantage and check it out. Robbie even took the the day off so we could all go together. I'm so glad we went...the boys loved it! There was plenty of things for them to do and see.

Of course we started off by checking out the dinosaur exhibit. Not much beat seeing real dinosaur bones when going to a museum.

Then we went to check out the space exhibit. The boys loved being able to sit inside a real space shuttle and seeing all the space ship models.

We listened to a story time about a gecko geared towards small children. We were excited to be able to get up close to a real gecko at the end of the story.

There was just so many cool exhibits at the museum. The boys learned about electricity (though we could watch the electric show because Meo freaked out when he found out it would have loud parts), Meo designed a fish, they learned about kinetic and potential energy (well they had fun with balls and running around), met a Capuchin monkey and more!

Robbie and I thought the coolest section was the human body section. We got to learn all sorts of cool things about our bodies. Like I learned that I have a neutral foot arch, but Robbie has a high arch (which was surprising because he always thought he had a flat foot). It was really fun to view all our walking silhouettes and compare our gates. You can check out videos of those below.

What a fun and informative day at the  museum!
