Fortunes Rocks in Autumn (13 months)

Since we've been better after spending most of last week sick, I think I've gone a little overboard with doing stuff away from home to make up for lost time! I am pretty exhausted after a very busy weekend and busy first part of the week. But it has all been fun stuff, like going to our baby friend Dominic's first birthday party

Robbie and I even got to take Meo to my very favorite beach, Forutnes Rocks, for the first time this year.

It's not a sandy beach, so it probably wouldn't have been very fun for Meo prior to this point because the rocks probably would have hurt his knees to crawl on. But now he seemed to enjoy walking on the challenging terrain, and loved scooping up different sized rocks all over the beach.

Fortunes Rocks is my favorite beach because first of all it's beautiful, second of all almost no one else goes there, and third of all I have so many fond memories of spending my summers there climbing on the rocks and going on great adventures. There are so many things to do there! You can swim, catch tiny fish in the tide pools, look for crabs, snails and starfish, venture way out on the huge rocks, and much more! Meo liked observing (and trying to pick up) a snail that I held in my hand that was peeking out its shell.

He carried around big pieces of kelp.

And he tasted lots of rocks.

Meo also enjoyed climbing.

As he grows, I look forward to the adventures we will continue to have together at places like this!
