I can't believe this is the last month he is one years old.
I am going to save my reflections of this year for his birthday post, but for now...
Some highlights from this month:
1. When he wants to change his diaper, he gets really excited now because he loves to "crash". He runs into his room and literally crashes/dives/launches himself onto his changing pad. He thinks this is the best thing ever. He actually says, "Change diaper? Crash??". Also, after he is done changing his diaper he likes to scrunch up his changing pad and put it away for us.
2. Whenever I go to the bathroom he asks for "a piece", which means he wants a tiny piece of toilet paper so that he can put it in the toilet with my toilet paper and watch it get flushed down. It's not the best thing for trees, but it's helping him get more excited about toilets.
3. Sometimes, when he is upset that we are making him do something he doesn't want to do, he "curses" under his breath. Sometimes his "cursing" is muttering the ABC's in an angry tone, other times he says "Moona Moona MOONA!".
4. He climbs up and down stairs upright without holding onto anything or anyone. He also climbs into his rear-facing car seat on his own and congratulates himself afterwards.
5. He started to love going down slides (he used to be too scared).
6. He can count to 20
7. He has his own joke that he likes to make, "Diaper on, Poo-poo on!". We don't really get it but it makes us laugh none the less. Silly boy :)
8. Meo likes to build LEGO towers now
9. He loves to help Mama cook and always climbs up in his tower to ask to "help Mama". I always let him pour the ingredients into the bowls and mix them for me.

We got a couple new additions in our yard this month. One was a swing set that our neighbors weren't using anymore. The other was a "log circuit". I've had this idea to use logs as stepping stones for Meo to play on (my friend Kasia did something similar and I've seen lots of examples on Pinterest), but I needed both logs and ways to cut them. Robbie's Dad ended up working hard to cut up an old fallen pine for Mr. Meo and we were able to set up a circuit for him. He loves to practice "big steps" across the upright logs and "little steps" to balance on the horizontal logs.
