Mattimeo's Second Birthday Part 3: Sleep over with Henry

Our wonderful friends Kasia and Henry traveled quite some distance to be able to make it to Meo's birthday party, and we were excited that not only would they be at the party, but they would be able to spend the night with us so we would have lots of time to play and catch up. This was the first time Meo had a friend sleep over his house, and they really couldn't have been any cuter. They did a great job of sharing toys, and most of the time they were just incredibly goofy and making each other laugh hysterically. Here are some photos from their special time together.

Munching on blackberries and whale crackers after the party

Playing "cooking" at Meo's new kitchen

Henry taught Meo how to use a kazoo, and Meo thought it was hillarious. The ran around making silly music for a long time.

Dinner of "deeper n'ever root pie" (from my Redwall cookbook) and salad from our garden

Meo had his first bath with a friend. They were both soooo tired after a full day, that they were mostly absorbed in watching the water as they poured it out of their cups. It was sweet to behold.

In the morning, Henry found my exercise ball, and they had fun being goofy rolling it around and running back and forth hurling their little bodies onto it.

Playing kitchen while we made blueberry pancakes for breakfast

Playing with Meo's zany zoo together after breakfast

We spent a lot of time outside that morning and did things like play on the logs, go for a walk, and slide down our mountain of a driveway on their bums.

For lunch we had some Annie's Mac and Cheese. The boys climbed up onto Meo's learning tower and helped me make it. Mostly they shook the macaroni boxes and giggled.

After lunch, I had one sleepy Meo, and Kasia had one sleepy Henry. Kasia decided to head home so that Henry would take his nap during their long drive back. Meo insisted going to sleep on the air mattress we had out for Kasia and Henry, and passed out almost immediately. We had so much fun with our wonderful friends; we wish that we could see them all the time but are incredibly thankful for the time we do get to spend together. Hope to see them both soon!
