17 Month Old Link

Finishing up another half a year of babydom, oh my Linky Loo. Here are some new things about Link this month:

• Favorite Books: Baby Touch and Feel Trucks, Baby Touch and Feel Farm, Vroom Vroom Maisy, Flip Flap Fly, That's Not my Dinosaur, Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See?
• Favorite Songs: Still I Fly (he sings this one A LOT), Misty Mountain (he sings this one, especially at bed time with Daddy), Baby Beluga, Thunderstruck, Head Shoulders Knees and Toes, Ring Around the Rosie, Two Little Black Birds, Ten Little Fingers.
• New Words: Meo (sounds more like "Weo"), Dusty (he calls a lot of his toys this), shoes, ball...I am sure there are lots more I just can't recall which ones are new right now.
• Link has already shown an interest in dressing himself and is able to get Meo's shoes on by himself. He tries to put his own shoes on but he has trouble with that. He also tries to put his clothes and other peoples clothes on quite frequently.
• He loves going outside so much! He readily sits down to have his shoes and outside clothes put one to play outside and he is great at helping in the garden, kicking around a soccer ball, digging, and finding ways to entertain himself. He sings a lot outside and mimics the mourning doves whenever he hears them. He loves taking walks in the woods and can walk at least a mile on his own already.
• Favorite foods: mama milk, cheese, yogurt, graham crackers, applesauce
• Foods he will not eat: eggs
• Link has figured out how to crawl under the gate at the bottom of the stairs and climbs up to the top (there are 13 steps) and down by himself. We block it off with pillows, but sometimes we supervise him going up and down so he can practice.
• He enjoys painting, coloring with block crayons, and rolling and squishing  homemade play dough.
• Link loves to play on the swings and he also enjoys climbing up stairs to go down slides all by himself now (he slides down feet first on his belly). 
• He's a snuggle bug and will always give a kiss when we ask for one, still prefers to sleep in mama's arms or on Daddy in the Ergo over sleeping in his own bed, regularly brings us books and climbs onto our laps to read them, and willingly holds my hand when he needs help.
• Has been diagnosed with asthma, but has no difficulty running around when he's healthy. He only has breathing difficulties when he has a cold.  
• Now he has 6 teeth!
