Easter 2016

2016 was the year of the vikings and dragons. It will be no surprise to you than that the Easter bunny came bearing gifts suitable for young vikings and dragon whisperers such as ours (Note that we have been reading the How to Train your Dragon novels by Cressida Cowell and are a bit obsessed...we also love the movies and show).

One of Meo's favorite breakfast foods is hard boiled eggs, so I made sure not to forget to have some special Easter eggs ready for him. I used red cabbage (blue), turmeric (yellow), and beets (pinkish brown) to dye the eggs.

Vikings ready for their Easter egg hunt.

We had to take Pippin for a decent walk before leaving him home with his feline brothers for several hours.

We had an Easter meal with my family at my parent's house. Aunt Meagen had prepared some Easter coloring pages and a fun game for the kids to play.

Check out this concentration.

The Easter eggs were full of simple instructions like "hope like a bunny" and "flap your wings like a chick" and the kids had a great time trying them out.

Memere and Pepere loaded the boys up with chocolate and got them some awesome bubble machines. They were thrilled about all of these things.

The rest of the afternoon was spent chasing bubbles, eating strawberry shortcake, playing with superhero action figures, trucks and boxing gloves, and watching Planet Earth. We are grateful for having such a nice day with our family! We love you all!
