Cousins Day!

Yesterday was awesome for two reasons.

One: We had cousins day! My Aunt Darlene wanted to set up a time for all the cousins on my mom's side of the family to get together. I wasn't expecting to have a full-out party though! It was complete with presents, balloons, cake and fun! This was the first time all 4 cousins got together and they were super cute. Evelyne (age 2) and Ellouise (age 1) are my cousin Stephanie's little girls, but she was very busy trying to meet some deadlines with adding another floor to their new house. So their grandparents picked them up for the day so we could party!

It was on cousins day that Mattimeo held his first balloon (which he thought was amazing) and donned his first party hat.

First we opened presents! Aunt Darlene, Uncle Steve, my mom and step dad bought all the babes gifts to open. They were all very cute opening their presents. Meo was way into the tissue paper. He got a cute Winny the Pooh pillow from his grandparents, and an Eric Carle book about baby animals and cute little Playskool animals on wheels from his aunt and uncle.

Then we had some delicious lunch and a yummy, fancy cake! We had vegetable lasagna, garlic bread and salad with roasted tomatoes and fresh mozzarella cheese. The cake was mocha flavored with a delicious, fluffy almond cream between layers all covered in chocolate frosting. There was a beautiful bouquet of flowers as a center piece to a table decked out in Diego themed dinnerware. Ellouise enjoyed some animal crackers followed by strawberries and bananas (which she enjoyed feeding to the little Yorkies).

It was lovely being able to spend the afternoon together, I am so glad that Aunt Darlene was able to arrange for us all to be together. It is times like this that we will look back on with fondness in our hearts.
