Kite Flying

Yesterday, my mom and I took Meo kite flying for his first time (11 months old). When my mom was hanging out on the beach with him on a different day, she noticed that he was really interested in the kites flying around him and he kept pointing to them. So I thought it would be fun to pick up one of our own and see how he liked kite flying. First we went to the Treehouse Toys in the Old Port to pick up a really nice kite and eat some lunch at Market Street Eats, our favorite lunch spot.

Then we headed out to Fort Williams for some kite flying fun! We got a sweet Tyrannosaurus Rex kite, which is a very appropriate first kite for Meo since we are always calling him Meosaur. It is a Premier Kites brand kite, which is well-made, colorful, easy to assemble, easy to fly, and even comes with a nice little carrying case.

Crazy kite

Meo absolutely loved his first kite flying experience. He had fun looking up at the kite spinning in the clouds.

Mema had fun kite flying too. At one point she even let Meo try holding onto the string, but we quickly decided that was a bad idea when he let go. Good thing Mema was still holding on!

It was the perfect kite flying day at the perfect place. Nothing like flying a kite right by the ocean overlooking a pretty lighthouse with amazing clouds and an awesome ocean breeze. We couldn't have asked for a better day!
