Summertime in Maine

Mattimeo is going to be 11 months old tomorrow, whoa!  I thought I would share some of the fun ten month activities we've done here in the Vacationland that is Maine.

Gardening! We have already harvested our first succession of radishes, and I planted some new seeds this weekend. This morning Meo and I harvested 3 of our first string beans after watering the garden. Meo thought it was nice to chew on.

Bath time for Theta; time to wash off all that pine pitch that collects on my poof!

Lots of walks with Mommy around Lake Arrowhead, which often lead to playing by the lake. We sometimes go swimming at the clubhouse too!

Independence Day outfit
To celebrate Independence Day this year, Robbie and I took Meo hiking Douglas Mountain in Standish. It was buggy (and we forgot insect repellent) and hot, but it was a beautiful, quick hike and we had a lot of fun. When we got home, we rinsed of our hiking grime swimming in the pool at the clubhouse.

Meo also had a few more firsts this month: 1. He learned how to clap (6/29/2012)
2. He waved bye-bye to Daddy (7/5/2012)
3. He got put into bed and put asleep by Daddy (no nursing) (7/3/2012)
4. Meo learned how to put items into containers (as opposed to only taking them out) (6/29/2012)

To end, I just wanted to mention that Mattimeo's great-great-grandmother (fondly called the Little Memere) died today at 96 years old. She was an amazing and lively woman, and she will be missed. I wish sweet Meo had gotten a chance to meet her. Love you Little Memere, rest in peace.
