My little guy turned 13 months this week! Boy was 12 months a big month for development! As you already know, he now walks around everywhere and never crawls. But what you may not know is that he has had a breakthrough with sign language and is signing "more" all the time now. So before when I would have to guess if he was hungry, he now tells me by signing "more". The only issue is that he signs more no matter if he wants to eat, drink water or nurse...he has kind of generalized it to be his sign for "I want to consume". So now we are working on signing more and then either water, eat, or milk after so that he starts to differentiate between what he wants. Other new things are at night when he is ready for bed, he crawls into his bed all by himself and starts signing "more" to me to let me know he wants to nurse to sleep. He also knows how to not only crawl upstairs (or walk if he has support), but is able to go down small sets of stairs backwards on his own (he may very well be able to do lots of stairs but I'm not brave enough to let him try). We also started to let him practice eating with a little fork, which he seems to enjoy. Its a little easier for him to get food with it than it is with a spoon.

He kisses when we ask him to now (as long is he's in the mood), which I think is the best thing ever. They are open mouthed kisses, but oh-so-sweet and wonderful!
One other thing is that he thinks its hilarious when I ask him what he is doing. He usually starts trying to run away, squealing in delight when I ask him what he is doing, or just giggles incessantly.
We are trying to make sure that chase games are initiate by a grown up so that he doesn't get in the habit of running off whenever he wants and thinks its a fun game, because that could be very dangerous! He certainly has a goofy, happy personality, and we love him dearly.

All of his friends are growing up too! We met up with some of our old classmates from our Birth Roots Sprouts class at a fun place called Greenlight studio last week. It's a really cool place where you can get food and it has several rooms of things for babies to climb, explore, pretend, and play with/on. It was crazy to see that almost all our little sprouts are walking now, and it was fun to watch them interact in new ways.
