Last Day Being One

Dear Meo,

I just tucked you in and nursed you to sleep for the very last time as a one year old. I told you how happy you make us; that you are such a silly boy and you always make us laugh. That you are kind and always gentle and caring to your family. That you love to learn and try new things, and everyday with you is like seeing the world in a whole new way. That you are the best snuggler and little helper a mom could ask for, and that I love you so much my heart feels like bursting. I sang lullabies to you until you wanted to sing "myself" and then you sang lullabies to me instead. I can't believe today is the last day you will be one, but at the same time I have to believe it...you have grown so much and becoming such an intelligent, kind, and goofy little man.

We had a great last day being one. Our friends Finn and Osa came over with their mommy and you loved playing trains and discovery tubes and ball with them up in your room. Then we played outside on your new swing set and the log circuit Grandpa helped us build. You played chase, and all of you laughed and laughed all morning long. There is no sound more musical than the sound of your sweet laughter, and it made me so happy to see you having so much fun with your friends.

The rest of the day you spent with Mama. We colored with crayons, played trains, played LEGOs, read books, and snuggled. It was a very wonderful day.

We hope you always know how much we love you. Your kitties love you.
